Intermediate NX Design & Assembly

CAM 2.png

Intermediate NX Design and Assemblies is designed to advance students further up the productivity curve. As a second tier course Intermediate NX Design and Assemblies builds on the tools you deployed as a result of attending the Designing Parts in NX (or equivalent). This method-based course focuses the student on productive modeling techniques that capture design intent in the context of the Master Model. Delivering on that outcome, this course will incorporate sketching, inter-part modeling, design intent, and several assembly topics as a significant part of the instruction.

Training Duration

5 days

Prerequisites

  • Basic understanding of parametric modeling

  • Working knowledge of NX basic modeling

Objective

  • Create interpart references

  • Manage assembly arrangement

  • Design “in context”

  • Create a basic free form shape

  • Understand component replacement methods

Content

  • Constrain sketches

  • Additional sketch techniques

  • Basic freeform

  • Duplicating features

  • Assembly functions

  • Reference sets

  • Top-down assemblies

  • Interpart geometry

  • Interpart references

  • Face operations

  • Variable radius and blend overflow

  • Remember assembly constraints

  • Component arrays

  • Reuse library and family of parts

  • Revise and replace components

  • Deform part

  • Extract and delete face

  • Assembly arrangements

Who Should Attend

CAD designers, engineers, and CAD/CAM managers who need to create parametric solid models that capture design intent
